My father died suddenly and my mother broke her hip on the same day. Thankfully, my husband took on the task finding a funeral home to handle my father’s arrangements, and he chose Hamlar-Curtis. We were scrambling to manage my mother’s care amid making decisions about my father, and Hamlar-Curtis couldn’t have been kinder or more patient. Throughout the process, their attentiveness and care were evident. In fact, my mother was so moved by their level of care, she has expressed her wish to use Hamlar-Curtis when her time comes. I trust them implicitly based on everything I shared above, but as a bonus, they were 100% transparent in discussing costs and had a very clear price list with no sales pitch. If you need the services of a funeral home in Roanoke, go to Hamlar-Curtis. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

One thing that is guaranteed in life is that we will all one day leave this earth. Recently, I had the privilege of working with the team at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home during one of the most difficult times for my family. My aunt was faced with making incredibly tough decisions as she planned her husband’s funeral, and Katina was nothing short of exceptional throughout the entire process. Katrina was patient, compassionate, kind, and professional in every way. She took the time to answer questions, guide my aunt through each step, and provide comfort when it was needed most. She truly went above and beyond the call of duty, making sure every detail was handled with care, dignity, and respect. When families are faced with choosing who will care for their loved ones, they want someone they can trust. Katrina and the entire Hamlar-Curtis team earned that trust and then some. Their compassion, professionalism, and dedication made a difficult season a little easier to navigate. The way Hamlar doing the hope center is wrong, As many said, since Duke passing Mike and rest of crew, are totally different. They want all the business, but not giving good business. I've seen, some of the bodies, they are no way near Dukes, approval. They want the hope center, but the city will stand up against them. Shame on Hamlar Curtis funeral home!

Heather is very informative, polite, helpful and provided great customer service throughout the entire process of getting my father cremated. She also made sure to protect his rights and ensured my siblings and I had and received everything we needed being that we live in a different state. I was very nervous and scared to trust during this transition. I am very grateful and appreciative of Heather and the team for teaching me something new.

Hamlar- Curtis has served our family numerous times throughout the years. Two of which, I had the responsibility of planning, with the most recent being my mother. The professionalism and care was top notch. Heather and Mike are very experienced and made it feel seamless under the very difficult and sad circumstances. My mothers wishes and my expectations were met. I highly recommend them for any funeral needs.
